A London-based Ghanaian Coach has claimed the nationality switch of Tariq Lamptey from England to Ghana is a done deal.
The Coach, who Kumasi-based Pure FM identified as Freddie, said the Brighton and Hove Albion defender is now available for Black Stars selection.
He added that it is now the decision of the Ghana head coach to hand him a call-up during the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in June.
Freddie told Pure FM on Wednesday: “Tariq Lamptey’s switch is done. He is available now for Ghana and it now depends on the coach if he will invite him for the upcoming games or not.
“To be honest, I shouldn’t be saying this but the switch is done,” he emphasized.

Lamptey was born in London to Ghanaian parents and has represented England at various youth levels and was recently part of their U-21s squad in the last international break in March.
Even after getting the England U-21 invite in March, he said he was not ruling out the possibility of playing for either Ghana or England at the senior international level.
The Coach also disclosed that Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is waiting for Fifa clearance to complete his switch.
“With Eddie Nketiah’s switch, it is close and hopefully would be done before the World Cup.
“I don’t know if it will be ready before the next call-ups, but possibly before the World Cup after Fifa’s clearance.”
