Asamoah Gyan says Kurt Okraku came at the wrong time as President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
At the wrong time, he meant Kurt came at a time Ghana football was coming out of the normalisation period after the Number 12 expose, and COVID-19 struck few months into his tenure.
The Ghana all-time top scorer was full of praise for Okraku, describing him as someone who knows football inside-out.
“Kurt is a good football administrator. He knows football. He was a sports journalist before, well educated,” Gyan told Asaase Radio.
“He knows everything about football, he has travelled all over the world. He established his own club and managed it so well. Somebody like this, he knows football.
“Kurt being the FA President, I think he came at the wrong time when there was COVID. He had to strategize everything. He had to bring his team, new people together from various places.
“Talking about the EXCO members, they were voted by different people, which he hasn’t worked with before. To bring these different people together, it’s very difficult at the wrong time of COVID.
“So far, he’s been able to manage things very well, kudos to him, he’s doing an incredible job.”
