Ghana has failed to qualify for the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations after losing 1-0 to Burkina Faso in the semifinals of the WAFU B Championship.
The winner of the semifinals, Burkina Faso, qualifies for the final of the 2022 U-17 WAFU B tournament and also next year’s U-17 Afcon.
The Black Starlets were unlucky not to score as they’ve created a number of goal scoring opportunities but could not utilize them.
Burkina Faso got the only goal of the game after the hour mark through the spot.
Ousamane Camara planted his penalty firmly in the left top corner to put Burkina Faso ahead in the 64th minute.
Camara’s fourth goal of the competition was enough for Burkina to pip the host nation to the finals and qualifying for next year’s U-17 Afcon.
