DRAWING PROSPECTS WAFA HOST RESILIENT ASHGOLD

WAFA have found it difficult to come by victories this season with personnel moving and a new coach. The academy boys are not able to finish off games. Ashanti Gold are one of the bright sides this season even of late missing the goals of talisman Shafiu Mumuni who is on his way out.

WAFA this season have won only one match in their last nine. They are not losing but are unable to rack up victories. Ashanti Gold in their last six gathered good results that propelled them to the summit of the league after match day eleven but were leapfrogged by yesterday’s results.

The academy boys have won less games and lost less as well but have drawn the most this season. Coach Prosper on a pre-match interview was optimistic their local derby win against division one side Hearts of Lions will be a boost to their moral going into a high-profile match like this.

In WAFA’s last five matches at home, they won once in a two-nil victory against Ebusua Dwarfs. Lost their 46match unbeaten run to Liberty by losing two-one and drawing blank against Dreams FC, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

Their opponents on the road only lost to Medeama, won against King Faisal and drew blank too against Hearts of Oak, Kotoko and Legon Cities.
On head-to-head, AshGold won three times in six fixtures of this particular tie in this competition and lost once while WAFA picked two victories. One ended in a stalemate.

In their last matches played in the League, AshGold edged Liberty at home by a goal to nil while WAFA fought out a draw at Techeman to Eleven Wonders.

All things being equal this fixture is favoured to be a draw if the statistics are anything to go by.
