Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Prince Adu-Addae Aning, who will play for their U-23s next season.
The 18-year-old left-back joins the German giants on a four-year deal. He will start his development by playing in the 3. Liga.
Aning was born in the Netherlands but of Ghanaian descent. He is eligible to play for both Ghana and the Netherlands and will work under Black Stars coach Otto Addo at Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund were first linked with a move for Aning in January, and he even visited the club’s training ground with his family.
He played for the Ajax youth team in the recently concluded season, making 23 appearances for the Ajax U-18s, including five in the UEFA Youth League.
The left-back made a strong impression on the Borussia Dortmund scouts when the Black and Yellows played Ajax in the UEFA Youth League group stage.
He could make his competitive debut next month when Christian Preußer’s side goes up against SV Wehen Wiesbaden on matchday one of the 2022/23 3. Liga season.
